Kingston

Welcome to Kingston

Hidden gem perfect for leisurely seafront living

Nestled along Appletree Cove is Kingston, a Pacific Northwest treasure. It was once merely a tiny lumber town, but years passed, and Kingston transformed into the pleasant harbor town it is today. The marina provides access to boating and fishing, while the endearing main street is lined with various local businesses, tasty restaurants, and charming shops.

The architecture in Kingston reflects the town's history and development, with a mix of several styles from different eras. The preservation of the older buildings downtown paired with the rustic yet upscale waterfront cottages gives a unique charm to the city that locals love.

What to Love

  • The ferry system makes Edmonds and Seattle easily accessible
  • Tight community with an interconnected social culture
  • Gateway points to the Olympic Peninsula

Local Lifestyle

Affectionately dubbed “the little city by the sea,” Kingston is a peaceful town that relishes a laid-back lifestyle while still enjoying easy access to big city life in the greater Puget Sound region. Everyone knows everyone here, and this fosters a real sense of community. Kingston is an idyllic place to settle down for those who cherish a slower-paced lifestyle with beautiful views and amazing outdoor recreation.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Residents love to convene at The Kingston Ale House after strolling along the water. Ono Poke Too is another tantalizing seafood option, with fresh poke bowls that taste as if they could be straight out of Hawaii.

Kingston is dotted with many laid-back spots ideal for grabbing a bite and a drink. The Grub Hut offers 29 different milkshake flavors. Filling Station is just a stone’s throw away from the ferry terminal, making it perfect for enjoying a classic American-style meal in a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere.

SeaWolfe Diner & Lounge provides Kingston locals with a comforting place to convene over breakfast or brunch any day of the week. The glazed doughnut breakfast sandwich (filled with piping hot, crispy fried chicken) is a meal you can’t miss. Cedar Ridge Grill at the White Horse Golf Club also has a delicious breakfast and brunch menu, but you can also come by for dinner and enjoy a delicious meal after your afternoon tee time.

Things to Do

Kingston’s tight community comes together at Kingston Public Market, with vendors selling handcrafted artisan items, delicious, ready-to-eat food, flowers, and incredible farm-fresh produce. You can roam the market while enjoying live music and experiencing the bright, friendly community that Kingston prides itself on.

On Kingston’s many beautiful summer days, there’s nothing better than a day at the park. Port of Kingston Kiwanis Park provides a gorgeous place to find a picnic table and enjoy the sight of the ferries coming into port. Mike Wallace Park is another great gathering place, known by locals simply as “marina park.” In the winter, this park is lit up with Christmas lights, while the views of Puget Sound are spectacular no matter the season. Saltair Beach Park is perfect for wandering along a rocky beach, and on clear days, you’ll catch a glimpse of the majestic Mount Rainer in the distance. To the north is Eglon Beach, which is a peaceful rocky beach that is fun to explore during low tide.

Natural beauty is always breathtaking, but so are the meticulously designed gardens at Heronswood Garden. You can tour the artful landscaping or take classes about seeds and flowers. It’s also a stunning event venue for a wedding or summer gathering.
