With the city made up of multiple distinct neighborhoods, Bremerton residents can find and settle down in the neighborhood that best fits their personality, whether it be the sleepy neighborhood of Haddon, the bustling downtown district, or one of many other options. Bremerton is also easily connected to Seattle via two separate ferries, making it simple to visit the big city for work or play.

Bremerton is lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful bodies of water, and there’s incredible seafood to match. Anthony’s at Sinclair Inlet is a favorite for seafood-focused Pacific Northwest cuisine. The food here is always fresh and sourced from local farmers and ranchers from the community. Boat Shed Restaurant is another excellent choice for steak and seafood, and with a waterfront deck and friendly service, it’s a Bremerton mainstay.
 
La Fermata provides Bremerton residents with a fine dining ambiance and delicious, beautifully plated pasta dishes. The charming exterior is known for the welcoming twinkle lights that make it feel like you’re slipping into a restaurant on the streets of Italy. Hi Lo’s 15th Street Cafe creates a classic diner experience, with a decked-out Volkswagen van out front serving as their outdoor booth. There’s also The Garage Bar & Grill, an energetic restaurant with a packed calendar of events, not to mention the famous bloody mary selection. With bingo nights, live music, and a stellar happy hour, locals know to head here for a great night.
 
Bremerton is also home to great shopping and artsy storefronts. The showroom at Ish Vintage Clothes & Costume is packed with high-quality, one-of-a-kind vintage finds that add a bit of charm and fun to your wardrobe. From jewelry to apparel, there are treasures here just waiting to be discovered.

Things to Do

On the Fourth of July, the biggest event is the Bremerton Bridge Blast, during which a massive fireworks display serves as the heart of the day-long festival. Thousands of visitors from all of Washington state enjoy food, entertainment, and a beer garden until the gathering culminates in the largest bridge fireworks show on the west coast. Bremerton’s neighborhoods are also known for putting on their own celebrations, such as Manette Fest, which takes place in the historic Manette neighborhood and features everything from a pancake breakfast to a car show.
 
Bremerton residents don’t have to wait for summer for amazing events. The year-round First Friday Art Walk takes place on the first Friday of every month and showcases local artists and musicians at featured local businesses throughout the city. On these Fridays, you’ll probably glimpse the handmade posters made by Heavy Jeens, a local poster project that aims to spread art throughout the community.
 
Bremerton and the surrounding areas have a rich naval history, so for those who want to learn more, it’s a quick drive up to the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum, which is brimming with military history and intriguing exhibits on naval technology like submarines, torpedoes, and more.
 
Kitsap Golf & Country Club was established in 1924 and has never wavered in its dedication to providing an upscale country club experience, complete with a luxurious kitchen, clubhouse, and golf course. There’s also the Bremerton Yacht Club, which provides an outgoing private club experience for those who enjoy nautical activities such as boating and sailing.
